SOLEMNITY OF THE SACRED HEART PRAYERS

  ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

(Feast Day Prayer)

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before You. We are yours and we freely consecrate ourselves today to your most Sacred Heart. In our world today, many have offended You and despised Your precepts.

Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them all to Your Sacred Heart. Be compassionate, O Lord, not only to the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also to the prodigal children who have abandoned You. Grant that they may quickly return to their Father’s house, to experience the fullness of life.

Be King of those who are led astray or those who have been hurt by our indifference. Call them back to Your church, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Grant, O Lord, to Your church assurance of freedom and rest in its hope in You. Give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from peoples of the world with one cry: Praise to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Him be the honor and glory for ever. Amen.
